WAIT! You Wore What? Spring/Summer 2024

WAIT! You Wore What? Spring/Summer 2024

What are you wearing this Spring/Summer? Do you need help or need change? We are here to help. The heat is approaching and in some places it's here already! This season is calling for BOLD style and BRIGHT colors, and we love it! We noticed the runways had all the brightness in the most creative ways. Think fluffy girly tops, vibrant yellows, gem greens, hot pinks and electric blues with unusual patterns and geometric shapes. YUMMY! As the weather warms up, you feel the breeze and smell fresh flowers. It's time to refresh your wardrobe with the latest and the coolest and all we want to know is, what are you wearing?  If you don't know we definitely have some ideas below. Plus chopping down on history on where summer wear got its start. It use to be unheard of, so let’s dive in!

1. Linen and Lightweight Fabrics:

One of our favorite fabrics for this time of year is linen because It's rich and comfortable and not to mention light weight. Stay cool and breezy with fabrics being made of lightweight linens, silks and soft delicate cottons. Whimcicle dresses and flowy pants are a must have staple around this time of year. We also love a man’s linen top or two piece linen set for HIM in shorts or pants. If you can find those fabrics in rich bright and bold colors, we believe you're headed in the right direction of great style and being comfortable.

2. Athleisure Wear:

We’re always about comfort and style at the same time. With athleisure-inspired wear you can do just that. Featuring sporty silhouettes, tube/halter tops, breathable fabrics, comfy form fitting and spandex. Details like mesh or lace panels and race back designs are great for max comfort and these days you can find a ton of stylish athleisure wear. Mix and match athletic pieces with everyday essentials and watch how sheek and stylish your wardrobe can

3. Accessories:

It's always a great fashion statement to complete any outfit with accessories or any statement piece, it really elevates the look. Sunglasses are a good idea if you want to do something subtle but it really depends on what you're going for because sunglasses can go from really conservative to over the top. Choose what you feel. One thing we love to wear in spring/summer is pretty jeweled choker necklaces. Headscarves and regular neck scarves are good in thin summer fabrics and bold rich colors to add to any wardrobe. These eye catching pieces can add personality to any look and help you stand out from the crowd if you want to be a little different. (peep our chokers below available on the site)

4. Summer Denims:

Of course it's about denim for us. Summer denim clothing is all about effortless style and comfort. As we all know one of the most popular summer denim pieces is denim shorts. Distressed cut-offs is our FAVORITE, actually the more damaged the better and we also love a good high waist design.  Denim dresses and skirts are also great for the season, try lightweight Denims and breathable options which is key to staying cool in the summer heat and opt for denim blends with cotton and linen for a comfortable fit that will keep you fresh all day.  Denim is not only versatile but also very durable, making it the perfect fabric for summer months. I mean really, there are countless ways to rock denim as we're sure you've seen some.  Peep our denim custom made shorts in the pick below by $kye! Available on the site.

 5. Summer Statement Tops:

A good summer top making a statement is so much FUN! One of our FAVORITE statement tops is anything off the shoulders. It's fun, cool. and sexy! This flirty feminine look is perfect for showing some skin while staying cooler in the heat. Great to pair with flowy skirts and pants as well.  Another trendy option and really popular is the crop top, (although my abs are not ready) lol it's great for showcasing your summer ready abs. Great paired with high waist jeans, shorts, and pants, trendy and flattering with a maxi skirt. The looks can go on but try to find crop tops in bold colors or interesting pattern designs to stay highly fashionable and above the rest.

Can you believe that it was no such thing as summer wear until 1920's.

Back in the 19th century traveling at your leisure or recreational travel was not as common as it is today. Public trains and small boats made it possible to move around to distant places especially when the holidays became a thing. Traveling became more prevalent as more options  became available, such as airplanes and cars.

It gets interesting because in that era people didn't see the need for extra special clothing to have just for traveling at that time, especially without holidays being popular or a thing back then. If you were to see photos of the Victorians seaside in England, you will see photos of them fully dressed, coats, boots, corsets, hats and all, enjoying the moment.

Popular socialites and wealthy entertainers began to travel the world with their luxurious lifestyles, and once the paparazzi got a hang of the fashion being worn, it really became a thing. That was the birth of Resort Wear and a wardrobe Capsule which is  great for mixing and matching for easy light traveling.

Fast forward to today, several years later (a century) and travel wear is in high demand. Haven't you heard of the saying "I need something to wear for my vacation."  or "I need some out of town clothes."  One good thing personally, we're glad the Victorians found the need to travel more and find a need for lighter weight clothing because we may have been fully dressed and hot on the beaches today.

Whatever your case may be just have fun with it and keep it light and airy as possible because it’s HOT!....and we want you to stay as cool and FASHIONABLE as possible. So again what are you wearing this spring/summer?

Be Safe! Stay cool and have an extraordinary fun summer!
